Visuddhimagga II-43

7. Khalupacchābhattikaṅgakathā

[PTS 071] 七、时后不食支

30.Khalupacchābhattikaṅgampi ‘‘atirittabhojanaṃ paṭikkhipāmi, khalupacchābhattikaṅgaṃ samādiyāmī’’ti imesaṃ aññataravacanena samādinnaṃ hoti.

(受持)时后不食支,亦于「我今禁止残余食,我今受持时后不食支」的二语之中,用任何一语即得受持。

Ñ(II,43): vii. The later-food-refuser's practice is undertaken with one of the following statements: 'I refuse additional food' or 'I undertake the later-food-refuser's practice'.

Tena pana khalupacchābhattikena pavāretvā puna bhojanaṃ kappiyaṃ kāretvā na bhuñjitabbaṃ. Idamassa vidhānaṃ.

(规定)时后不食支者,已经吃足之后,则不宜更令作食而食。这是规定。

Ñ: Now when that later-food refuser has shown that he is satisfied, he should not again have the food made allowable [by having it put into his hands according to the rule for bhikkhus] and eat it. These are the directions for it.

Sayādaw U Sīlānanda: [by having it put into his hands according to the rule for bhikkhus] – It does not help in understanding.

Han: Mahāsī Sayādaw did not put any explanation within square brackets, but explained it in foot-note.

If a monk under *pavārita* (Han: some kind of prohibition by vinaya rules) wants to eat some more after the change in posture, he can ask another monk to eat the food and give him back as the left-over food. That monk can then eat the left-over food. However, the *later-food-refuser* cannot do like that.

That is probably what Ñ meant by [by having it put into his hands according to the rule for bhikkhus].
