210. Kheḷoti antomukhe pheṇamissā āpodhātu.
(29)「唾」是在口内混以泡沫的水界(液体)。

Ñ(VIII,135): This is water element mixed with froth inside the mouth.
So vaṇṇato seto pheṇavaṇṇo.
它的「色」白如泡沫色。
Ñ: As to colour, it is white, the colour of the froth.
Saṇṭhānato okāsasaṇṭhāno.
「形」──如其处所之形,
Ñ: As to shape, it is the shape of its location,
Pheṇasaṇṭhānotipi vattuṃ vaṭṭati.
亦可说如泡沫形。
Ñ: or it can be called 'the shape of froth'.
Disato uparimāya disāya jāto.
「方位」──生于上方。
Ñ: As to direction, it belongs to the upper direction.
Okāsato ubhohi kapolapassehi oruyha jivhāya ṭhito.
「处所」──自两颊边下流于舌上。
Ñ: As to location, it is to be found on the tongue after it has descended from the cheeks on both sides.
Na cesa ettha sadā sannicito hutvā tiṭṭhati.
然而此(唾)并非常积聚在舌上的;
Ñ: And it is not always to be found stored there;
Yadā pana sattā tathārūpamāhāraṃ passanti vā saranti vā,
当有情看见或忆想某种食物之时,
Ñ: but when beings see particular kinds of food, or remember them,
uṇhatittakaṭukaloṇambilānaṃ vā kiñci mukhe ṭhapenti,
或把任何热、苦、辛、咸、酸等味放到舌上之时,
Ñ: or put something hot or bitter or sharp or salty or sour into their mouths,
yadā vā nesaṃ hadayaṃ āgilāyati, kismiñci deva vā jigucchā uppajjati,
或者心脏(对某特殊食物)厌倦及对任何种类而生厌恶之时,
Ñ: or when their hearts are faint, or nausea arises on some account,
tadā kheḷo uppajjitvā ubhohi kapolapassehi oruyha jivhāya saṇṭhāti.
则唾生自两颊之侧而下流止于舌上。
Ñ: then spittle appears and runs down from the cheeks on both sides to settle on the tongue.
Aggajivhāya cesa tanuko hoti,
在舌端的唾是淡的。
Ñ: It is thin at the tip of the tongue,
mūlajivhāya bahalo,
在舌根的是浓的。
Ñ: and thick at the root of the tongue.
mukhe pakkhittañca puthukaṃ vā taṇḍulaṃ vā aññaṃ vā kiñci khādanīyaṃ nadīpuline khatakūpakasalilaṃ viya parikkhayaṃ agacchantova temetuṃ samattho hoti.
把磨了的米或饭或任何其它硬食放到口里的时候,犹如在河堤的沙中掘的小穴,不断的渗出水来,[PTS 264] (唾)亦不尽的流来而得滋润(食物)。
Ñ: It is capable, without getting used up, of wetting unhusked rice or husked rice or anything else chewable that is put into the mouth, like the water in a pit scooped out in a river sand bank. [264]
Paricchedato kheḷabhāgena paricchinno,
「界限」──以唾的部分为限。
Ñ: As to delimitation, it is bounded by what appertains to spittle.
ayamassa sabhāgaparicchedo.
这是它的「自分的界限」。
Ñ: … (This is the delimitation by the similar.)
Visabhāgaparicchedo pana kesasadisova.
「他分的界限」与发相似。
Ñ: (But their delimitation by the dissimilar is like that for the head hairs.)
