Visuddhimagga XXII-43

 Cuddaseva asambhinnā, hontete bodhipakkhiyā;

Koṭṭhāsato sattavidhā, sattatiṃsappabhedato.

[PTS 681]此等菩提分，有十四[十四：即前面所说九为一种的欲、心、喜、轻安、舍、正思惟、正语、正业、正命的九种及二种乃至九种中的信、定、慧、念、精进的五种，合为十四。]的不离（纯无区分的），依部分为七类[七类：即念处、正勤、神足、根、力、觉支、圣道的七部分。]，却有三十七的分别。

Ñ(XXII,43): States sharing in enlightenment

Are fourteen, undistributed;

They total thirty-seven states

Among the groups distributed.

Sakiccanipphādanato, sarūpena ca vuttito;

Sabbeva ariyamaggassa, sambhave sambhavanti teti.

因为完成自己的作用及于自性而转起，

彼等一切的发生都是在获得圣道的时候。

Ñ: While each performs the proper task

That to its special lot falls due,

They all come into being when

The Noble Eightfold Path comes true.

Evaṃ tāvettha paripuṇṇabodhipakkhiyabhāvo jānitabbo.

如是先于此（智见清净）中当知「圆满菩提分的状态」。
