Visuddhimagga II-18

Thūpacīvaranti vammikaṃ parikkhipitvā balikammaṃ kataṃ.

「塔衣」是围盖于蚁塔之上而作供祠[cí]的。

Ñ(II,18): 'A robe from a shrine' is an offering made by draping an ant-hill [in cloth].



Samaṇacīvaranti bhikkhusantakaṃ.

「沙门衣」是比丘所有的。

'An ascetic's robe' is one belonging to a bhikkhu.



Ābhisekikanti rañño abhisekaṭṭhāne chaḍḍitacīvaraṃ.

「灌顶衣」是丢在国王灌顶之处的衣。

Ñ: 'One from a consecration' is one thrown away at the king's consecration place.



Iddhimayanti ehibhikkhucīvaraṃ.

「神变所作衣」即佛言「来,比丘」的衣。

Ñ: 'One produced by supernormal power' is a 'come-bhikkhu' robe.



Panthikanti antarāmagge patitakaṃ. Yaṃ pana sāmikānaṃ satisammosena patitaṃ, taṃ thokaṃ rakkhitvā gahetabbaṃ.

「旅者衣」是落在道中的衣 —— 这或许是所有主不慎[shèn]失落的,所以必须等待一段时间,然后取之。

Ñ: 'One from a highway' is one dropped in the middle of a road. But one dropped by the owner's negligence should be taken only after waiting a while.



Vātāhaṭanti vātena paharitvā dūre pātitaṃ, taṃ pana sāmike apassantena gahetuṃ vaṭṭati.

「风散衣」是被风吹到远方而落下来的,这种不能辨别其所有主的时候是可取的。

Ñ: 'One borne by the wind' is one that falls a long way off, having been carried by the wind. It is allowable to take it if the owners are not in sight.



Devadattiyanti anuruddhattherassa viya devatāhi dinnakaṃ.

「天授衣」如诸天授与阿那律陀长老的衣一样。

Ñ: 'One presented by deities' is one given by deities like that given to the Elder Anuruddha (see DhA.ii, 173-74).



Sāmuddiyanti samuddavīcīhi thale ussāritaṃ.

「海滨衣」是由海浪推到岸上来的。

Ñ: 'One from the sea' is one washed up on dry land by the sea waves.
