Visuddhimagga II-34

Candūpamo niccanavo kulesu,

Amaccharī sabbasamānukampo;

Kulūpakādīnavavippamutto,

Hotīdha bhikkhu sapadānacārī.

次第乞食的比丘,

如月而施家常新,

无悭一切平等的爱悯,

也无施家亲近的烦神。

Ñ(II,34): The monk who at each house his begging plies

Is moonlike, ever new to families,

Nor does he grudge[ɡrʌdʒ] to help all equally,

Free from the risks of house-dependency.

Loluppacārañca pahāya tasmā,

Okkhittacakkhu yugamattadassī;

Ākaṅkhamāno bhuvi sericāraṃ,

Careyya dhīro sapadānacāranti.

智者为求行于大地的自由,

舍他的贪欲,

收他的眼睛,

前见一寻的次第乞食行。

Ñ: Who would the self-indulgent round forsake

And roam the world at will, the while to make

His downcast eyes range a yoke-length before,

Then let him wisely seek from door to door.

Ayaṃ sapadānacārikaṅge samādānavidhānappabhedabhedānisaṃsavaṇṇanā.

这是次第乞食支的受持、规定、区别、破坏、功德的解释。

Ñ: This is the commentary on the undertaking, directions, grades, breach, and benefits, in the case of the house-to-house-seeker's practice. [69]
