Iti iminā ca vitakkena iminā ca vicārena saha vattati rukkho viya pupphena phalena cāti idaṃ jhānaṃ ‘‘savitakkaṃ savicāra’’nti vuccati.
犹如有花和果同时存在的树一样,与寻及伺同时存在的禅,故说有寻有伺。
Ñ(IV,92): So this jhāna occurs together with this applied thought and this sustained thought and it is called 'accompanied by applied and sustained thought' as a tree is called 'accompanied by flowers and fruits'.
Vibhaṅge pana ‘‘iminā ca vitakkena iminā ca vicārena upeto hoti samupeto’’tiādinā (vibha. 565) nayena puggalādhiṭṭhānā desanā katā.
《分别论》中所说的「具有此寻与此伺」等,是依于人而设教的,
Ñ: But in the Vibhaṅga the teaching is given in terms of a person in the way beginning 'He is possessed, fully possessed, of this applied thought and this sustained thought' (Vbh. 257).
Attho pana tatrāpi evameva daṭṭhabbo.
当知这里的意义也和那里同样。
Ñ: The meaning should be regarded in the same way there too.
