72. Pītisukhanti ettha pīṇayatīti pīti.
「喜乐」,欢喜为「喜」。
Ñ(IV,94): Happiness and bliss: it refreshes (pīṇayati), thus it is happiness (pīti).

Note in Chinese translation:「喜」(pīti),《解脱道论》:「喜」──其定义为心于是时大欢喜戏笑,心满清凉,此名为喜。问:喜何相,何味,何起,何处,几种喜?答:喜者谓欣悦遍满为相,欢适是味,调伏乱心是起,踊跃是处。
Sā sampiyāyanalakkhaṇā, kāyacittapīnanarasā, pharaṇarasā vā, odagyapaccupaṭṭhānā.
彼以喜爱为相。身心喜悦为味,或充满喜悦为味。雀跃为现起。
Ñ: It has the characteristic of endearing (sampiyāyana). Its function is to refresh the body and the mind; or its function is to pervade (thrill with rapture). It is manifested as elation.
Sā panesā khuddikā pīti, khaṇikāpīti, okkantikāpīti, ubbegāpīti, pharaṇāpītīti pañcavidhā hoti.
喜有五种:小喜、剎那喜、继起喜、踊跃喜、遍满喜。
Ñ: But it is of five kinds as minor happiness, momentary happiness, showering happiness, uplifting happiness, and pervading (rapturous) happiness.

Tattha khuddikāpīti sarīre lomahaṃsamattameva kātuṃ sakkoti.
这里的「小喜」只能使身上的毫毛竖立。
Ñ: Herein, minor happiness is only able to raise the hairs on the body.
Khaṇikāpīti khaṇe khaṇe vijjuppādasadisā hoti.
「剎那喜」犹如电光剎那剎那而起。
Ñ: Momentary happiness is like flashes of lightning at different moments.
Okkantikāpīti samuddatīraṃ vīci viya kāyaṃ okkamitvā okkamitvā bhijjati.
「继起喜」犹如海岸的波浪,于身上数数现起而消逝。
Ñ: Showering happiness breaks over the body again and again like waves on the sea shore.
