343. Evaṃ kesādīsu manasikāraṃ pavattetvā yena santappati,
③(火界四部分的作意)既已如是于发等而起作意,
Ñ(XI,81): When he has given his attention in this way to the body hairs, etc.,
ayaṃ imasmiṃ sarīre pāṭiyekko koṭṭhāso acetano abyākato suñño nissatto paripācanākāro tejodhātūti,
次当于火风而起如是的作意:
(1)以它而热。这在此身中是单独部分,无思,无记,空,非有情,以遍熟为行相的火界。
Ñ: he should then give his attention to the [four] fire components thus: That whereby one is warmed—this is a particular component of this body, without thought, indeterminate, void, not a living being; it is fire element in the mode of maturing (ripening).
yena jīrīyati,
(2)以它而老。
Ñ: That whereby one ages …
yena pariḍayhati,
(3)以它而燃烧。
Ñ: That whereby one burns up …
yena asitapītakhāyitasāyitaṃ sammā pariṇāmaṃ gacchati,
(4)以它而吃的饮的嚼的尝的得以适当的消化。
Ñ: That whereby what is eaten, drunk, chewed and tasted becomes completely digested—
ayaṃ imasmiṃ sarīre pāṭiyekko koṭṭhāso acetano abyākato suñño nissatto paripācanākāro tejodhātūti evaṃ tejokoṭṭhāsesu manasikāro pavattetabbo.
这在此身中是单独部分,无思,无记,空,非有情,以遍熟为行相的火界。
Ñ: this is a particular component of this body, without thought, indeterminate, void, not a living being; it is fire element in the mode of maturing (ripening).

Notes: the Pāḷi translation of 'evaṃ tejokoṭṭhāsesu manasikāro pavattetabbo' is above '次当于火风而起如是的作意', 'he should then give his attention to the [four] fire components'.
