346. Yassa pana evampi bhāvayato kammaṭṭhānaṃ na ijjhati,
4.(以分别其相而修习)如果这样修习,他的业处依然未能成就,
[(4) WITH CHARACTERISTICS BY ANALYSIS]
Ñ(XI,85): However, if he still does not succeed with his meditation subject when he gives his attention to it in this way,
tena salakkhaṇavibhattito bhāvetabbaṃ.
则他应「以分别其相」而修习。
Ñ: then he should develop it with characteristics by analysis.
Kathaṃ?
如何修呢?
Ñ: How?
Pubbe vuttanayeneva kesādayo pariggahetvā kesamhi thaddhalakkhaṇaṃ pathavīdhātūti vavatthapetabbaṃ.
即以如前面所说的方法,习取了发等之后,确定发中的坚固相为地界,
Ñ: After discerning head hairs, etc., in the way already described, the characteristic of stiffenedness in head hairs should be defined as the earth element,
Tattheva ābandhanalakkhaṇaṃ āpodhātūti.
此(发)中的粘结相为水界,
Ñ: the characteristic of cohesion there too as the water element,
Paripācanalakkhaṇaṃ tejodhātūti.
遍熟相为火界,
Ñ: the characteristic of maturing (ripening) as the fire element,
Vitthambhanalakkhaṇaṃ vāyodhātūti.
支持相为风界。
Ñ: and the characteristic of distension as the air element.
Evaṃ sabbakoṭṭhāsesu ekekasmiṃ koṭṭhāse catasso catasso dhātuyo vavatthapetabbā.
如是于一切(三十二)部分中,一一部分都应作四界差别。
Ñ: The four elements should be defined in this way in the case of each component.
Tassevaṃ vavatthāpayato dhātuyo pākaṭā honti.
这样的确定,他的诸界便得明了。
Ñ: As he defines them in this way the elements become evident to him.
Tā punappunaṃ āvajjato manasikaroto vuttanayeneva upacārasamādhi uppajjati.
于彼等四界数数念虑与作意,便得生起如前所述的近行定。
Ñ: As he adverts and gives attention to them again and again access concentration arises in him in the way already described.
