Tesu lobho ārammaṇaggahaṇalakkhaṇo
makkaṭālepo viya, abhisaṅgaraso tattakapāle khittamaṃsapesi
viya. Apariccāgapaccupaṭṭhāno telañjanarāgo viya.
Saṃyojaniyadhammesu assādadassanapadaṭṭhāno. Taṇhānadībhāvena
vaḍḍhamāno sīghasotā nadī iva mahāsamuddaṃ apāyameva
gahetvā gacchatīti daṭṭhabbo.
此中:「贪」──有把持所缘的特相,如捕猿的粘黐;有粘着的作用,如投于热锅的肉片;以不施舍为现状,如灯上的油垢;于诸结缚之法认为有乐味为近因。当知贪能增长爱河而趋向恶趣,犹如急流的河而向大海一样。
Ñ(XIV,162): Of these, greed has the
characteristic of grasping an object, like birdlime (lit. 'monkey
lime'). Its function is sticking, like meat put in a hot pan. It is
manifested as not giving up, like the dye of lamp-black. Its
proximate cause is seeing enjoyment in things that lead to bondage.
Swelling with the current of craving, it should be regarded as taking
[beings] with it to states of loss, as a swift-flowing river does to
the great ocean.
