Visuddhimagga XVII-7

 573. Tatrāyaṃ vacanattho, imesaṃ paccayā idappaccayā.

而此（此缘性的）语义是这样：是此等（老死等）的缘为此缘，

Ñ(XVII,7): Here is the word meaning: idappaccayā (lit. that-conditions) = imesaṃ paccayā (conditions for those);



Idappaccayā eva idappaccayatā.

此缘即为此缘性；

Ñ: idappaccayā (that-conditions) = idappaccayatā (that-conditionality, conditionality for those, specific conditionality).



Idappaccayānaṃ vā samūho idappaccayatā.

或以此缘的聚合为此缘性。

Ñ: Or alternatively, idappaccayatā (that-conditionality) = idappaccayānaṃ samūho (the total of that-conditions, total specific conditionality).
