Visuddhimagga I-114

Tattha nimittaṃ nāma senāsanatthaṃ bhūmiparikammādīni karontassa ‘‘kiṃ, bhante, kariyati, ko kārāpetī’’ti gihīhi vutte ‘‘na koci’’ti paṭivacanaṃ, yaṃ vā panaññampi evarūpaṃ nimittakammaṃ.

为住处而示相，例如他在准备一块土地，在家人见而问道：「尊者！做什么？谁使你这样做？」答道：「谁也没有呀！」像这样的其它形式，名为示相业。

Ñ(I,114): Herein, a 'hint' is when one who is getting the preparing of the ground, etc., done for the purpose of [making] a resting place is asked, 'What is being done, venerable sir? Who is having it done?' and he replies, 'No one'; or any other such giving of hints.

Obhāso nāma ‘‘upāsakā tumhe kuhiṃ vasathā’’ti. Pāsāde, bhanteti. ‘‘Bhikkhūnaṃ pana upāsakā pāsādo na vaṭṭatī’’ti vacanaṃ, yaṃ vā panaññampi evarūpaṃ obhāsakammaṃ.

暗示，如问优婆塞道：「你住在什么地方？」「尊者，高阁[gé]啦。」「优婆塞，比丘不能住高阁吗？」像这样的话，为暗示业。

Ñ: An 'indication' is saying 'Lay follower, where do you live?' — 'In a mansion, venerable sir'. — 'But, lay follower, a mansion is not allowed for bhikkhus'. Or any other such giving of indication.

Sayādaw U Sīlānanda: [a mansion is not allowed for bhikkhus => is a mansion not allowed for bhikkhus?] Han: Burmese translation is same as Sayādaw’s translation.

Parikathā nāma ‘‘bhikkhusaṅghassa senāsanaṃ sambādha’’nti vacanaṃ, yā vā panaññāpi evarūpā pariyāyakathā.

若说：「这里比丘的住处实在太狭小了」，像此等的话为迂回之说。

Ñ: 'Roundabout talk' is saying, 'The resting place for the Community of Bhikkhus is crowded'; or any other such oblique[əʊˈbli:k, əˈbli:k] talk.
