Puthujjanakalyāṇakānaṃ sīlaṃ upasampadato paṭṭhāya sudhotajātimaṇi viya suparikammakatasuvaṇṇaṃ viya ca atiparisuddhattā cittuppādamattakenapi malena virahitaṃ arahattasseva padaṭṭhānaṃ hoti,

3)善人之戒,自从圆具以后,即如善净的明珠及善加锻炼的黄金一样而极清净,连一心的尘垢也没有生起,实为得证阿罗汉的近因,

Ñ(I,134): (c) The magnanimous ordinary man's virtue, which from the time of admission to the Order is devoid even of the stain of a [wrong] thought because of its extreme purity, like a gem of purest water, like well-refined gold, becomes the proximate cause for Arahantship itself,

Sayādaw U Sīlānanda: [of purest water => well polish].

Han: Burmese translation is the same as Sayādaw’s translation.

tasmā paripuṇṇapārisuddhīti vuccati,

故名「圆满遍净戒」,

Ñ: which is why it is called consisting of fulfilled purification;

mahāsaṅgharakkhitabhāgineyyasaṅgharakkhitattherānaṃ viya.

犹如大僧护长老和他的外甥僧护长老的戒一样。

Ñ: like that of the Elders Saṅgharakkhita the Great and Saṅgharakkhita the Nephew.
