Visuddhimagga II-68

Sosānikañhi maraṇānusatippabhāvā,

Niddāgatampi na phusanti pamādadosā;

Sampassato ca kuṇapāni bahūni tassa,

Kāmānubhāvavasagampi na hoti cittaṃ.

冢间住者由于常起念死的力量,

睡眠之时也无放逸的过失,

因为数数观死尸,

征服了心中的贪欲。

Ñ(II,68): Even in sleep the dweller in a charnel ground shows naught

Of negligence[ˈneɡlidʒəns], for death is ever present to his thought;

He may be sure there is no lust after sense pleasure preys

Upon his mind, with many corpses present to his gaze.

Saṃvegameti vipulaṃ na madaṃ upeti,

Sammā atho ghaṭati nibbutimesamāno;

Sosānikaṅgamitinekaguṇāvahattā,

Nibbānaninnahadayena nisevitabbanti.

以大悚惧[sǒng jù],渐至无骄的境地,

为求寂静而作正当的努力;

当以倾向涅盘的心,

去行那具有种种功德的冢间住支。

Ñ: Rightly he strives because he gains a sense of urgency,

While in his search for final peace he curbs[kə:b] all vanity.

Let him that feels a learning to nibbana in his heart

Embrace this practice for it has rare virtues to impart.

Ayaṃ sosānikaṅge samādānavidhānappabhedabhedānisaṃsavaṇṇanā.

这是冢间住支的受持、规定、区别、破坏、功德的解释。

Ñ: This is the commentary on the undertaking, directions, grades, breach, and benefits, in the case of the charnel-ground dweller's practice. [78]
