Visuddhimagga XVI-66

 556. Tayidaṃ santilakkhaṇaṃ, accutirasaṃ, assāsakaraṇarasaṃ vā, animittapaccupaṭṭhānaṃ, nippapañcapaccupaṭṭhānaṃ vā.

此「灭」有寂静的特相；有不死的作用，或令得乐的作用；无相、或无障碍是它的现状。

Ñ(XVI,66): It has peace as its characteristic. Its function is not to die; or its function is to comfort. It is manifested as the signless; or it is manifested as non-diversification.
