Visuddhimagga XVII-17

 578. Atha vā,

Ñ(XVII,17): Or alternatively:

Paṭimukhamitoti vutto, hetusamūho ayaṃ paṭiccoti;

Sahite uppādeti ca, iti vutto so samuppādo.

由此因聚向于果，故说为「缘」。

因聚生起俱生法，故说为「起」。

Ñ: The sum of causes too they call

'Facing its counterpart', so all

Is in that sense 'dependent', as they tell;

This sum of causes too, as stated,

Gives fruits that rise associated,

So 'co-arising' it is called as well.
