185. Nakhāti vīsatiyā nakhapattānaṃ nāmaṃ.
(3)(爪)──有二十枚名爪。

Ñ(VIII,91): 'Nails' is the name for the twenty nail plates.
Te sabbepi vaṇṇato setā.
它们都是白「色」。
Ñ: They are all white as to colour.
Saṇṭhānato macchasakalikasaṇṭhānā.
「形」如鱼鳞。
Ñ: As to shape, they are the shape of fish scales.
Disato pādanakhā heṭṭhimadisāya,
「方位」──足的爪在下方,
Ñ: As to direction: the toe-nails are in the lower direction;
hatthanakhā uparimadisāyāti dvīsu disāsu jātā.
手的爪在上方,[PTS 251] 如是生在两方。
Ñ: the finger-nails are in the upper direction. [251] So they grow in the two directions.
Okāsato aṅgulīnaṃ aggapiṭṭhesu patiṭṭhitā.
「处所」──生在指(趾)端的背上。
Ñ: As to location, they are fixed on the tips of the backs of the fingers and toes.
Paricchedato dvīsu disāsu aṅgulikoṭimaṃsehi,
「界限」──两方以(左右)指端的肉,
Ñ: As to delimitation, they are bounded in the two directions by the flesh of the ends of the fingers and toes,
anto aṅgulipiṭṭhimaṃsena,
内以指背的肉,
Ñ: and inside by the flesh of the backs of the fingers and toes,
bahi ceva agge ca ākāsena,
外与顶以虚空,
Ñ: and externally and at the end by space,
tiriyaṃ aññamaññena paricchinnā,
横以(诸爪)相互之间为限,
Ñ: and all round by each other.
dve nakhā ekato natthi,
没有二爪长在一处的。
Ñ: There are no two nails together.
ayaṃ nesaṃ sabhāgaparicchedo.
这是它的「自分的界限」。
Ñ: … (This is the delimitation by the similar.)
Visabhāgaparicchedo pana kesasadisoyeva.
「他分的界限」与发相似。
Ñ: (But their delimitation by the dissimilar is like that for the head hairs.)
