Visuddhimagga I-34

Dutiyattike attano ananurūpaṃ pajahitukāmena attagarunā attanigāravena pavattitaṃ attādhipateyyaṃ.

（2）（我增上、世间增上、法增上）于第二种三法中：为求弃舍自己不适当的，为自尊自重[PTS 014] 而受持的为「我增上」（戒）。

Ñ(I,34): 10. In the second triad[ˈtraiəd] that practised out of self-regard by one who regards self and desires to abandon what is unbecoming to self [14] is virtue giving precedence to self.



Lokāpavādaṃ pariharitukāmena lokagarunā loke gāravena pavattitaṃ lokādhipateyyaṃ.

欲求避免世间的批评，欲为世间尊重及尊重世间而受持的为「世间增上」（戒）。

Ñ: That practised out of regard for the world and out of desire to ward off the censure of the world is virtue giving precedence to the world.



Dhammamahattaṃ pūjetukāmena dhammagarunā dhammagāravena pavattitaṃ dhammādhipateyyanti evaṃ attādhipateyyādivasena tividhaṃ.

为求恭敬大法、为尊重法而受持的为「法增上（戒）」。这是我增上等三种。

Ñ: That practised out of regard for the Dhamma and out of desire to honour the majesty of the Dhamma is virtue giving precedence to the Dhamma. So it is of three kinds as giving precedence to self, and so on.
