Visuddhimagga XXII-120

Ādīnavānupassanāti bhayatupaṭṭhānavasena uppannaṃ sabbabhavādīsu ādīnavadassanañāṇaṃ, tena ‘‘kiñci allīyitabbaṃ na dissatī’’ti ālayābhinivesassa pahānaṃ hoti.

16)「过患随观」,是由怖畏而现起及见一切有中的过患的智。以此不见有任何可以执着之物,故断执着。

Ñ(XXII,120): (16) Contemplation of danger is knowledge seeing danger in all kinds of becoming, etc., which has arisen owing to appearance as terror. Through its means misinterpreting (insisting) due to reliance is abandoned, since he does not see any [formation] to be relied on for shelter.



Paṭisaṅkhānupassanāti muñcanassa upāyakaraṇaṃ paṭisaṅkhāñāṇaṃ, tena appaṭisaṅkhāya pahānaṃ hoti.

17)「审察随观」,是解脱的方便的审察智。以此而断不审察。

Ñ: (17) Contemplation of reflexion is the reflexion that effects the means to liberation. Through its means non-reflexion is abandoned.
