Visuddhimagga XVI-74

 Asithilaparakkamasiddhena ñāṇavisesena adhigamanīyato, sabbaññuvacanato ca paramatthena sabhāvato nibbānaṃ nāvijjamānaṃ.

由于坚强的努力的结果及由殊胜之智而证得之故,是一切知者所说之故,是第一义的自性之故,所以涅盘不是不存在的。

Ñ(XVI,74): Because it can be arrived at by distinction of knowledge that succeeds through untiring perseverance, and because it is the word of the Omniscient One, nibbana is not non-existent as regards individual essence in the ultimate sense;

Vuttañhetaṃ ‘‘atthi, bhikkhave, ajātaṃ abhūtaṃ akataṃ asaṅkhata’’nti.

即所谓:「诸比丘!这是不生、不成、无作、无为」。

Ñ: for this is said: 'Bhikkhus, there is an unborn, an unbecome, an unmade, an unformed' (Iti. 37; Ud. 8O).

Idaṃ dukkhanirodhaniddese vinicchayakathāmukhaṃ.

这是解释苦之灭的抉择论。

Ñ: This is the section of the definition dealing with the description of the cessation of suffering.
