 Piyavippayogo

[(x) SEPARATION FROM THE LOVED]

550. Piyavippayogo nāma manāpehi sattasaṅkhārehi vinābhāvo. So iṭṭhavatthuviyogalakkhaṇo, sokuppādanaraso, byasanapaccupaṭṭhāno. Dukkho pana sokadukkhassa vatthuto. Tenetaṃ vuccati –

[PTS 505](10)「爱别离」──是和适意的有情及事物别离的意思。与可爱的事物别离是它的特相,有生愁的作用,不幸是它的现状。因为它是愁苦的所依故为苦。所以这样说:

Ñ(XVI,55): Separation from the loved is to be parted from agreeable beings and formations (inanimate things). Its characteristic is dissociation from desirable objects. Its function is to arouse sorrow. It is manifested as loss. It is suffering because it is a basis for the suffering of sorrow. Hence this is said:

‘‘Ñātidhanādiviyogā,

Sokasarasamappitā vitujjanti;

Bālā yato tato yaṃ,

Dukkhoti mato piyavippayogo’’ti.

因为亲戚财产的别离,

愚者深受愁箭的刺激,

所以说此爱别离是苦。

Ñ: The dart of sorrow wounds the heart

Of fools who from their wealth must part or kin,

Which roughly should be grounds enough

For counting the loved lost as suffering.

Ayaṃ piyavippayoge vinicchayo.

──这是爱别离的决定说──

Ñ: This is the exposition of separation from the loved.
