Tañhi –
‘‘Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, dakkho goghātako vā goghātakantevāsī vā gāviṃ vadhitvā catumahāpathe bilaso vibhajitvā nisinno assa, evameva kho, bhikkhave, bhikkhu imameva kāyaṃ yathāṭhitaṃ yathāpaṇihitaṃ dhātuso paccavekkhati, atthi imasmiṃ kāye pathavīdhātu āpodhātu tejodhātu vāyodhātū’’ti – Evaṃ tikkhapaññassa dhātukammaṭṭhānikassa vasena mahāsatipaṭṭhāne (dī. ni. 2.378) saṅkhepato āgataṃ.
(1)(大念处经说)那里说「诸比丘!譬如精练的屠牛者或屠牛者的弟子,杀了牛,坐于四衢大道,[PTS 348] 把它割截成一片一片的。诸比丘!比丘也这样的观察此身如其所处,如其所置,从界而观:于此身中,有地界、水界、火界、风界」,在《大念处经》中是为有利慧而修界业处的人这样简略地说的。

Ñ(XI,28): It is given in brief in the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta, for one of quick understanding whose meditation subject is elements, as follows: 'Bhikkhus, just as though a skilled butcher or butcher's apprentice had killed a cow and were seated at the cross-roads [348] with it cut up into pieces, so too, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu reviews this body however placed, however disposed, as consisting of elements: In this body there are the earth element, the water element, the fire element, and the air element' (D.ii,294).
