Visuddhimagga VII-90

155. Tattha suppaṭipannoti suṭṭhu paṭipanno, sammāpaṭipadaṃ anivattipaṭipadaṃ anulomapaṭipadaṃ apaccanīkapaṭipadaṃ dhammānudhammapaṭipadaṃ paṭipannoti vuttaṃ hoti.

此中「善行道」(suppaṭipanno)是善(suṭṭhu)与行道(paṭipanno)的结合,即指正道,不退之道,随顺之道,无敌之道的行道而言。

Ñ(VII,90): Herein, entered on the good way (suppaṭipanna) is thoroughly entered on the way (suṭṭhu paṭipanna). What is meant is that it has entered on a way (paṭipanna) that is the right way (sammā-paṭipadā), the way that is irreversible, the way that is in conformity [with truth], the way that has no opposition, the way that is regulated by the Dhamma.

Notes in Chinese translation : 「善行道」,《解脱道论》「善修行」。



Bhagavato ovādānusāsaniṃ sakkaccaṃ suṇantīti sāvakā.

恭敬地听闻世尊的训示教诫,故为「声闻」(Sāvakā)。

Ñ: They hear (suṇanti) attentively the Blessed One's instruction, thus they are his disciples (sāvaka—lit. 'hearers').



Sāvakānaṃ saṅgho sāvakasaṅgho,

声闻之众为「声闻众」,

Ñ: The community of the disciples is the community of those disciples.

Notes in Chinese translation : 「声闻众」(Sāvakasaṅgha),《解脱道论》「沙门众」。



sīladiṭṭhisāmaññatāya saṅghātabhāvamāpanno sāvakasamūhoti attho.

便是有同等的戒和见,而集体生活的声闻团的意义。

Ñ: The meaning is that the total of disciples forms a communality because it possesses in common both virtue and [right] view. [219]



Yasmā pana sā sammāpaṭipadā uju avaṅkā akuṭilā ajimhā, ariyo ca ñāyotipi vuccati,

[PTS 219] 其次那正道亦说是正直、不曲、不弯、非不正及圣与真理,

Ñ: That right way, being straight, unbent, uncrooked, unwarped, is called noble and true



anucchavikattā ca sāmīcītipi saṅkhaṃ gatā.

因顺当故名正当,是故那行道的圣众,

Ñ: and is known as proper owing to its becomingness, therefore the noble community that has entered on that



Tasmā tampaṭipanno ariyasaṅgho ujuppaṭipanno ñāyappaṭipanno sāmīcippaṭipannotipi vutto.

亦说为正直行道,真理行道,正当行道。

Ñ: is also said to have entered on the straight way, entered on the true way, and entered on the proper way.
