Visuddhimagga VIII-103

Gopphakaṭṭhīni baddhakīḷāgoḷakasaṇṭhānāni.

踝的骨如(两个以线)系往来游戏的球形。

Ñ(VIII,103): The ankle bones are the shape of [two] play balls bound together.



Jaṅghaṭṭhīnaṃ gopphakaṭṭhīsu patiṭṭhitaṭṭhānaṃ apanītatacasindikaḷīrasaṇṭhānaṃ.

胫骨附着于踝骨之处如剥去了皮的圣提(枣椰树?)木的顶上嫩的部分的形状。

Ñ: The shin bones, in the place where they rest on the ankle bones, are the shape of a sindi shoot without the skin removed.



Khuddakajaṅghaṭṭhikaṃ dhanukadaṇḍasaṇṭhānaṃ.

小胫骨(腓骨)如小弓的弧形;

Ñ: The small shin bone is the shape of a [toy] bow stick.



Mahantaṃ milātasappapiṭṭhisaṇṭhānaṃ.

大的(胫骨)如干了的蛇背之形。

Ñ: The large one is the shape of a shrivelled snake's back.



Jaṇṇukaṭṭhi ekato parikkhīṇapheṇakasaṇṭhānaṃ.

膝盖骨如缺灭了一部分的水泡形。

Ñ: The knee bone is the shape of a lump of froth melted on one side.



Tattha jaṅghaṭṭhikassa patiṭṭhitaṭṭhānaṃ atikhiṇaggagosiṅgasaṇṭhānaṃ.

而胫骨附着(于膝盖骨)之处,其尖端如牛角形。

Ñ: Herein, the place where the shin bone rests on it is the shape of a blunt cow's horn.



Ūruṭṭhi duttacchitavāsiparasudaṇḍasaṇṭhānaṃ.

大腿骨如没有削平的斧钺的柄的形状,

Ñ: The thigh bone is the shape of a badly-pared handle for an axe or hatchet.



Tassa kaṭiṭṭhimhi patiṭṭhitaṭṭhānaṃ kīḷāgoḷakasaṇṭhānaṃ.

而彼(大腿骨)依附于臀骨之处如游戏的球形。

Ñ: The place where it fits into the hip bone is the shape of a play ball.



Tena kaṭiṭṭhino patiṭṭhitaṭṭhānaṃ aggacchinnamahāpunnāgaphalasaṇṭhānaṃ.

而臀骨依附于(腿骨)之处如切去前端的大波那伽(铁力木)果的形状。

Ñ: The place in the hip bone where it is set is the shape of a big punnāga fruit with the end cut off.
